Sumario:A search for narrow high-mass resonances decaying to a muon pair is presented using the 8 TeV pp collision dataset from the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment (2012). The analysis found no evidence for non-standard model physics. A Sequential Standard Model Z’SSM resonance lighter than 2960 GeV and a superstring-inspired Z’φ lighter than 2600 GeV are excluded at 95% confidence level.
