description The principal motive of the work done was to introduce a new and improved design for an Optical Bench used in RF cavity inspections. The Optical Bench is used to analyze the internal Neodymium surface of the RF cavities for any defects on the micron level. This means that the entire surface area of the cavity needs to be photographed, processed and analyzed in order to repair the defect. Surface smoothness is desired in order to achieve high accelerating gradients within the cavity. The design needed to include electro-mechanical compatibility, which will enable tests done on the inner surface of the RF cavity to be automated in the future. Both the mechanical and the electrical designs were laid out successfully.
