Sumario: | CERN owns a large server farm (more than 10 000 servers). It's important to keep all servers configured and to detect vulnerabilities before malicious people. Considered the number of servers it is impossible to check them manually. So scripts are created to automatically detect vulnerabilities and misconfiguration. The final goal is to directly notify server administrator when issues are found. To achieve this goal, scripts must be extremely reliable in orther to not waste everyone's time. The reliability can only be reached by a long manually analyzis of CERN servers. The analyzis is also helping to determine the best way to detect issues and vulnerabilities. |
