Summer Student Project Report. Search for multi-charged particles in pp collisions at √s = 8TeV using the ATLAS detector.

The basic purpose of the work is a search for long-lived, multi-charged particles. The search is performed using the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The desired signature is anomalously highly ionising particles consistent with charges from |q| =2e to |q|=6e which reach the muon chambers. Within this project the applying of calorimeter information for separating signal from background was investigated.
