Mono-$W$/$Z$ searches in ATLAS and CMS

description | Searches for mono-$W$ and $Z$ bosons are presented in the hadronic+MET and dileptonic+MET channels using the ATLAS experiment and the mono-lepton+MET channel using CMS at the Large Hadron Collider. The full 2012 data set produced at a center of mass energy of 8 TeV is used comprising 20 fb$^{-1}$. No statistically significant deviation from the Standard Model is observed. Limits are set on the mass scale using novel effective field theory approaches which consider constructive interference in the mono-$W$ final state as well as scenarios in which dark matter couples to the Standard Model sector through the electroweak bosons. Limits are also set on the invisible Higgs width and a UV complete model. |
