description |
The presentation will begin with a short introduction to the work Chaos
Group has done in the field of photorealistic rendering. The next part
will cover the latest developments in light transport simulation
algorithms, including path integral formulation of the rendering
equation, multiple importance sampling, and newer algorithms like
progressive photon mapping and vertex connection merging. The final part
of the presentation will discuss implementation details for some of the
algorithms in a distributed heterogenous computing environment based on
CPUs and GPGPUs.

About the speaker

Vladimir Koylazov is CTO and founder of Chaos Software and one of the original developers of the V-Ray raytracing software. Passionate about 3D graphics and programming, Vlado is the driving force behind Chaos Group's software solutions. He participated in the implementation of algorithms for accurate light simulations and support for different hardware platforms, including CPU and GPGPU, as well as distributed calculations on clusters of machines.
