Heavy meson production and spectroscopy at CMS

This proceeding summarizes the search for new physics via a rare heavy meson decays--$B_{s} \rightarrow \mu^+\mu^-$, the observation of an unexpected structure in the $J/\psi\phi$ spectrum through exclusive $B^+\to J/\psi \phi K^+$ decays, as well as the measurement of $X(3872)$ production cross section using the pp collision data collected at the CMS experiment.
