An upgrade for the LHCb monitoring infrastructure

This document is the result of my work during the second year internship, realized within the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). The goal of this internship is to design and setup a new monitoring infrastructure based on Icinga 2 tool and integrate it as much as possible to a new configuration management tool, Puppet. During this internship, the first step of my mission was to interact with members of the LHCb Online team to have an overview of the system. Then I had to understand the basic concepts of Icinga 2 as well as those of Puppet before proceeding to the implementation of the complete monitoring solution.
