Sumario: | This document reports on the status and plans of the NA61/SHINE experiment at the CERN SPS as of October 2014. First, an overview of the performed detector maintenance and upgrades is given. Second, the advance in the NA61/SHINE software and calibration procedures is briefly reported. Third, new physics results are presented. Fourth, plans for data taking in 2014-2017 are outlined. The extension of the approved physics programme by measurements for the Fermilab neutrino beams is proposed in a separate document submitted in parallel to this Status Report. Finally we request a 10 days-long test with a primary Pb beam in 2015. This is necessary for the planning and preparation of considered data taking with Pb+Pb collisions. |
