Search for Supersymmetry with Tau Leptons in Data from the ATLAS Experiment at the LHC

This thesis presents the search for Supersymmetry in events with high pT jets, a large amount of missing transverse energy and at least one hadronically decaying τ lepton in data from the ATLAS detector. Two analyses are presented in detail: one performed on the data collected during the year 2010 and one on the full data set recorded by ATLAS in year 2012. The latter analysis is based on two published papers in which the author of this thesis has been involved. These are Paper I and Paper II attached to this thesis. Paper II is an ATLAS conference note. The final version of the analysis is in an advanced stage of preparation with scheduled submission for publication in early Summer 2014.
