Recent results and prospects of rare kaon decay measurements at LHCb

Sumario: | Rare $K^0_{\rm\scriptscriptstyle S}$ decays are a new area of interest for LHCb. Latest results on the $K^0_{\rm\scriptscriptstyle S}\to\mu\mu$ search are reported using data collected by the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = 7$ TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1 fb$^{-1}$. The upper limit at $90\%$ CL on the branching fraction of this decay is found to be $9\times 10^{-9}$. This limit is 30 times lower than the previous world best. LHCb prospects for other $K^0_{\rm\scriptscriptstyle S}$ and strange-hadron decays are also reported. |
