Sumario: | The HEBT design of the MedAustron Hadron Therapy Centre in Wiener Neustadt (Austria) is worldwide the only one that has implied all recommendations of the CERN PIMMS Study [Ref. PIMMS] – with one exception: The concept of telescopic modules throughout the beam transport was realized only in the backbone. In the branches leading to the irradiation rooms, it was implemented in the vertical plane only. In this note retrofitted fully telescopic optics are described for three of these lines; no solution was found for the proton gantry. |
