Studies of Monte Carlo generators in Higgs boson production for ATLAS Run 2

This note presents studies for Monte Carlo (MC) event generators of the Higgs boson to be used in ATLAS Run 2. The current status of the MC studies is presented for the Standard Model Higgs boson production channels gluon-fusion, $V$ $H$ and $ttH$/$tH$ and for Beyond the Standard Model Higgs modes s...

description This note presents studies for Monte Carlo (MC) event generators of the Higgs boson to be used in ATLAS Run 2. The current status of the MC studies is presented for the Standard Model Higgs boson production channels gluon-fusion, $V$ $H$ and $ttH$/$tH$ and for Beyond the Standard Model Higgs modes separately. Furthermore, studies of $t$$\bar{t}$ and $t$$\bar{t}$ plus heavy flavor processes, which are important background for $t$$\bar{t}$ analyses, are presented. This material is meant to be the baseline for the discussions during the Higgs (N)NLO MC and Tools Workshop, taking place at CERN on December 17$^{th}$-19$^{th}$ 2014.
