Sumario:The LHCb experiment is a dedicated heavy flavour experiment at the LHC. Its primary goal is to search for indirect evidence of New Physics in CP violation and rare decays of beauty and charm hadrons. The detector includes a high granularity silicon-strip vertex detector, a silicon-strip detector upstream of the magnet and three stations of silicon-strip detectors and straw drift tubes downstream of the magnet. The software used to perform the track reconstruction and primary vertex reconstruction is described in detail along with a discussion of its performance.
