Sumario: | Numerous models beyond the Standard Model theory predict new heavy particles or high energy phenomena that would appear as heavy resonances in collider data. Such a signature was thus actively searched for by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations using the LHC 8 TeV proton-proton collisions. The most recent analyses using the full dataset ($\sim 20 fb^{-1}$) and probing a large variety of final states are reported in this article. No sign of new physics was discovered and the results are thus interpreted as exclusion limits in a model independent way or on various models based on the presence of extra-dimensions, a new strong sector or large symmetry groups. |
