Dijet resonance searches with the ATLAS detector at 14 TeV LHC
In view of the energy upgrade of the LHC for Run-2, the reach of the exotic dijets analysis has been investigated. Sumario: | In view of the energy upgrade of the LHC for Run-2, the reach of the exotic dijets analysis has been investigated. Smeared MC simulations have been used to perform sensitivity scans on benchmark models and to set limits. Integrated luminosities up to 3000 fb$^{-1}$ have been investigated. The results have been compared to the published results of the analysis for Run-1. It has been measured that 100 pb$^{-1}$ at 14 TeV are enough to equal the current 8 TeV limits while 1 fb$^{-1}$ allows to make a 5 $\sigma$ discovery of excited quarks up to 3-5~TeV and quantum black holes up to 5-7 TeV. |
