2015 NA62 Status Report to the CERN SPSC

NA62 aims to study the rare decay $K^+ \to \pi^+ \nu \bar{\nu}$ at the CERN SPS. In this document we report the status of the detector construction and the general progress of the experiment since April 2014. Most major detectors were complete and installed. The commissioning of the experiment took place during the October - December 2014 SPS run and we report here extensively on a first look at the data. The status of the preparation and the prospects for the 2015 run are presented.
