description The measurement of production properties of mesons and baryons at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV using proton-proton collision data collected with the ATLAS experiment is presented and compared to predictions. Bose-Einstein correlations provide a unique opportunity for detailed understanding of the space-time geometry of the hadronization region, for determining the size and shape of the source from which particles are emitted and for interpreting quark confinement effects. The ATLAS collaboration has performed a measurement of Bose-Einstein correlations of the pairs of charged particles in $pp$ collisions at 900 GeV and 7 TeV.
