description We present the first results of a search for new particles decaying to jet pairs using the dijet mass spectrum measured by the CMS detector in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=13 TeV. The data used correspond to an integrated luminosity of 37 pb$^{-1}$. The dijet mass distribution of the two leading jets is measured after requiring the pseudorapidity separation of the two jets to satisfy $\vert\Delta\eta\vert<$1.3 with each jet inside the region $\vert\eta\vert <$ 2.5. The measured dijet mass spectrum is fitted with a smooth, empirical parameterization which is the same used in previous versions of this analysis at 7 and 8 TeV and well describes the prediction from simulated QCD dijet events. In the current data sample we observe no significant evidence for new particle production.
