Sumario: | This note presents a preliminary measurement of the inclusive-jet cross section in proton--proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV using the ATLAS detector. The measurement uses the data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 78 pb$^{-1}$, delivered by the early operation of the Large Hadron Collider in 2015 after its two-year shutdown. Jets are clustered using the anti-$k_t$ algorithm with a radius parameter value of $R=0.4$. Inclusive-jet cross sections are measured differentially as a function of the jet transverse momentum from 350 GeV to 840 GeV in a jet rapidity range of $|y|<0.5$. Predictions from next-to-leading-order QCD calculations corrected for non-perturbative effects are compared to the measured cross sections. The predictions are consistent with the measured cross sections. |
