description The ALICE ITS will be upgraded to allow for high precision measurements of rare decays at low transverse momentum in Long Shutdown 2 of the LHC. The current six layer system will be completely replaced by a seven layer detector consisting of Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (MAPS). A telescope consisting of seven layers of single pALPIDE-1 sensors has been designed at CERN to allow its characterisation. This study investigates the impact of high multiplicity on the association of tracks to hits. It was found that there are clear relations between the amount of hits in the DUT and the fake efficiency for several parameters. Furthermore, the algorithm responsible for the association between hits and tracks was studied and improved.
