Identifying two B hadrons from the Higgs to $b\bar{b}$ decay within the same fat jet
As CMS searches for high-mass new particles, it is not easy to distinguish between single jets that originate from the merging of the decay products of the Higgs boson and the decay products of QCD and $t\bar{t}$ production. This report presents results obtained in the study to identify the $H$ jets...

description | As CMS searches for high-mass new particles, it is not easy to distinguish between single jets that originate from the merging of the decay products of the Higgs boson and the decay products of QCD and $t\bar{t}$ production. This report presents results obtained in the study to identify the $H$ jets. This was done by using algorithms which target $H\rightarrow b\bar{b}$ decays. The efficiency for Higgs-tagging is tested in Monte Carlo simulated events with the CMS detector. It was found that by applying a cut on a pruned jet mass > 100 GeV we can get a good sample for validation with data. |
