Sumario: | The measurement of the W mass is very important to confirm the validity of the standard model, and it's needed at an outstanding level of precision ($\sim 10$ MeV). To obtain such precision it's necessary to have a great control over all the sources of uncertainty in the measurement. The project was focused on understanding the sources of uncertainty on the experimental side (statistical, calibrations) of the analysis. This included running the fits to obtain the uncert. figures (see table \ref{table:syst}) and deriving relations between the various quantities and inputs, to cross-check the validity of the methods and correct eventual errors. |
