Sumario:Advances in theoretical calculations of QCD processes and modeling of colored objects have underpinned the success of the ATLAS and CMS Run I LHC measurements of the Higgs boson and searches for physics beyond the Standard Model. In this talk, I will cover selected recent results from the two experiments which illustrate the ways in which QCD calculations and models are used. I will additionally highlight areas in which uncertainties from these calculations and models are comparable to the experimental uncertainties, motivating further theoretical work.
