Search for $WW$, $WZ$, and $ZZ$ resonances in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 8$ \tev with the ATLAS detector

A search for new heavy bosons decaying to WW, WZ, and ZZ is presented, using a data sample with 20.3 fb−1 of pp collisions collected with the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. description A search for new heavy bosons decaying to WW, WZ, and ZZ is presented, using a data sample with 20.3 fb−1 of pp collisions collected with the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The analysis is a combination of individual searches in all-leptonic, semi-leptonic, and all-hadronic final states. No significant excess is observed in the com- bined analysis. Limits at 95% confidence level are set within the context of three bench- mark models: an extended gauge model with a heavy W boson; a bulk Randall-Sundrum model with a heavy spin-2 graviton; and a simplified model predicting a heavy vector triplet.
