Sumario:Producing and trapping of antihydrogen strongly depends on production of positron plasmas of low temperatures. Therefore the ALPHA experiment is immensely interested in reducing the temperature of positrons that are being attained in the current experiment. In recent experiments a new way of cooling of positrons has been demonstrated - sympathetic cooling. In this method the Beryllium (in our case) ions are cooled down by a laser to very low temperature and mixed with positrons. They collide with each other, resulting in cooled positrons.
