Sumario:In this project, the student investigates an extension of the jet-vertex-tagger to improve the pileup jet rejection in ATLAS MET reconstruction. Pileup correction procedures are examined in simulation for future MET performance improvements. As a side project, the implications of a forward tracker at the HL-LHC on the $H{\rightarrow\,}WW^{(\ast)}{\rightarrow\,}\ell\nu\ell\nu$ signal strength uncertainty are investigated as part of the ATLAS Phase-II Upgrade Scoping Document.
