Sumario: | Bottom-quark-initiated jet tagging at the trigger level in the ATLAS detector during Run 2 of- fers unique opportunities for improvements in for increasing the rate of acceptance of valuable, heavy-flavor events while suppressing light quark jets. An overview of the ATLAS b-jet trigger improvments and expected performance for Run 2 are presented. This includes upgrades in hard- ware components as well as improved software algorithms. The estimated performance of the offline-based taggers is found to significantly improve efficiency over similar rejection working points than in Run 1. |
