Sumario: | The production of W and Z bosons is studied in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV using data collected in the CMS experiment. W events are characterized by an isolated, energetic electron or muon. Z events are characterized by a pair of isolated, energetic electrons or muons. Data-driven methods are used to estimate reconstruction and triggering efficiencies, and as well as the main backgrounds. Recent results on Z boson differential cross section, Z boson angular coefficients, photon final-state radiation in Z decays, forward-backward asymmetry in Drell-Yan process, and W muon charge asymmetry are presented. |
