Sumario:We present a search for the production of a heavy gauge boson $\mathrm{W^\prime}$ decaying into a top quark and a bottom quark. The dataset used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 12.9 fb$^{-1}$ collected by the CMS experiment at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV during 2016. The final state signature searched for includes a lepton ($\mathrm{e}, \mu$) plus jets and missing transverse energy. We find no evidence of a $\mathrm{W^\prime}$ boson and set 95$\%$ confidence level (C.L.) upper limits on its production cross-section times branching fraction. For $\mathrm{W^\prime}$ bosons with purely right handed couplings, the observed (expected) 95$\%$ C.L. lower limit is 2.67 (2.70) TeV. These are currently the most stringent limits in this channel.
