Exploring Beyond the Standard Object and Event Selection in $\text{H} \rightarrow 4 \ell$ Analysis

In this report a possible improvement for the $\text{H} \rightarrow 4 \ell$ lepton and event selection is con- sidered. The currently used rectangular requirements are reviewed and analyzed. Results from MVA methods are used as a benchmark for the possible improvements. A likelihood discriminant approach is presented which is shown to work for the lepton selection. Ex- tensions to event selection are considered. Further steps and directions of research are also considered.
