Implementation and performance analysis of Soft Killer background subtraction method in the AliROOT framework

The Soft Killer background subtraction method removes the softest particles up to a certain transverse momentum cut-off threshold in an event. The applied threshold is determined dynamically on an event-by-event basis. The aim of this project was to implement the Soft Killer subtraction method within the AliROOT framework and to study the performance in the LHC energy regime for p-p and Pb-Pb collision systems.
