Sumario:The discovery of the Standard Model (SM) scalar of mass 125 GeV was a clear experimental evidence of the Brout-Englert-Higgs mechanism. However the true nature of electroweak symmetry breaking can be probed by studying higher order terms in the Higgs potential. The tri-linear Higgs self coupling can be analyzed at the LHC by searching for non resonant di-Higgs production. Besides, a number of exotic theories (e.g. WED models) predict heavy resonances that can decay into two SM Higgs bosons. In this talk, I will be describing searches for both resonant and non-resonant di-Higgs production in which one of the Higgs bosons decays into two b-quarks and the other to two (hadronically decaying) tau leptons. Both the searches use full Run-1 luminosity (18.3 $fb ^{-1}$ ) at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV collected by the CMS experiment in 2012.
