Sumario:The document presents the performance of the CMS hadrons-plus-strips (HPS) algorithm, used to reconstruct $\tau$ leptons in their hadronic decays, evaluated with proton-proton collision data recorded in 2016 at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV. The measurements are performed for $\tau_{h}$ identification efficiency, $\tau_{h}$ energy scale, and the probability of electrons or muons mis-identified as hadronic $\tau$ decays.
