Search for Wprime boson resonances decaying into a top quark and a bottom quark in lepton + jet final states at $\sqrt{s}=13~\mathrm{TeV}$

We find no evidence for the production of a $\mathrm{W^\prime}$ boson, and are able to exclude at $95\%$ confidence level the production of right-handed $\mathrm{W^\prime}$ bosons with masses below $3.4~\mathrm{TeV}$ if $M_\mathrm{W^\prime_R}\gg M_{\nu_R}$ and $3.6~\mathrm{TeV}$ if $M_\mathrm{W^\prime_R} < M_{\nu_R}$ at $95\%$ confidence level. Exclusion limits for $\mathrm{W^\prime}$ bosons are also presented as a function of their coupling strength to left- and right-handed fermions. The results presented are the most stringent limits published to date in the tb decay channel.
