Sumario:The results of an experiment aiming at colliding high brightness bunches at 6.5 TeV in the LHC and probing the interplay between external noise and head on beam-beam interaction are presented. The colliding bunches are shown to have a burn off dominated lifetime, but they experience a significant emittance growth, possibly resulting from the transverse feedback noise with non standard settings. While several features remain to be understood, the effect of noise on colliding beams seems compatible with the so-called weak-strong model.
