Sumario: | The study of Higgs boson pair production at the LHC gives unique insight into the electroweak symmetry breaking mechanism. Both the resonant and non-resonant production modes need to be explored to search for extensions of the scalar sector and to probe the shape of scalar potential itself. The ATLAS and CMS Collaborations have searched for Higgs boson pair production in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 8\,\text{TeV}$ and $13\,\text{TeV}$, and the results of these searches as well as the prospects for future measurements are discussed here. |
