Overview of recent SM and Higgs results by ATLAS and CMS

This talk presents selected aspects of recent physics results from the ATLAS and CMS collaborations in the SM and Higgs sectors. The measurements considered here are the measurement of the W-boson mass by ATLAS, the measurement of the weak mixing angle by CMS, and the measurement at 13 TeV of vector-boson fusion production of Z bosons decaying to leptons by both collaborations. Some of the issues related to these latter analyses are discussed in the context of the recent set of observed cross-section results in the Higgs to photon-photon pair analysis.
