Sumario: | This note presents studies of the impact of precision measurements of Drell-Yan observables on the parton distribution functions and their related uncertainties. Two such studies are reported, based on simulated $W \to \ell\nu$ and $Z \to \ell\ell$ decays at centre-of-mass energies of $7$~and $8$~TeV. The first study is focused on asymmetry distributions in $Z$-boson decays at 8~TeV, which are relevant to the measurement of the weak mixing angle~$sin^2\theta_W$, while the second one concerns precision measurements of fiducial differential cross sections in $W$- and $Z$-boson decays at~7~TeV, which are particularly relevant to the measurement of the $W$-boson mass~$m_W$. |
