description In 2016 it was 60 years since the foundation of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna — the international intergovernmental organization leading research in the field of fundamental physics of elementary particles, atomic nuclei and condensed state of matter. A long and very productive way is passed. Looking back, it becomes clear that internationality and multidisciplinarity of the research is a guarantee of successful development (and preservation) of fundamental science. This observation turned out to be especially actual in the experimental field of research. In the review, on the basis of a brief description of the most important results achieved in JINR, an attempt is made to look into the future (for 7-10 years) and show the place of the Institute in solving the most important problems of elementary particle physics - the fundamental field of modern natural science. This look into the future is full of reasonable optimism.
