Sumario: | In High Energy Physics experiments high levels of radiation may be generated, which can damage the electronics and could be really harmful for workers. In such environments the deployment of an adequate monitoring system is therefore mandatory. At CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research), in the framework of the radiation protection program, the RADMON (RADiation MONitoring) project provides a passive dosimeter solution for ionizing and non-ionizing radiation level detection. The readout of RADMON dosimeters is currently performed using complex existing electronics or expensive workbench instrumentation. This thesis describes in detail the hardware and software development of a new portable, smaller and cheaper, RADMON readout system. |
