Gamma NMR spectroscopy experiment

During the ten weeks of my internship here at CERN I have been working in the Gamma NMR spectroscopy experiment in ISOLDE. My supervisor Ms. Magdalena Kowalska and her team were about to perform NMR spectroscopy of 133mXe. The experiment purpose was to take a sample of 133mXe hyperpolarized nucleus and put it in a small container where an external magnetic field is applied in a specific direction. After that, with 3 detectors (one in the longitudinal and two in the transversal directions of the magnetic field) the gamma-decay asymmetry will be recorded when different radiofrequency pulses are applied.
