description | A new cooling concept for ATLAS upgrade is being developed in the EP-DT group. In order to perform tests and gain better understanding about the cooling concept performance, a prototype is being built with heaters and embedded temperature sensors. These temperature sensors (RTD) need to be read out fast and accurately to evaluate the thermal performance and to prevent prototype damage due to a possible cooling failure. In the end of this project, a new LabVIEW program has been implemented on the prototype using state machine modelling. A new readout board is also tested to achieve a faster and more accurate acquisition. |
