Sumario: | During the long-shutdown three, which is foreseen for the years 2024-2026, LHC will be upgraded to provide higher luminosity, with an ultimate goal of delivering 3-4 ab−1 of integrated luminosity to each experiment. To fully exploit this luminosity, the ATLAS experiment will undergo a major upgrade, that will enable it to cope with the higher expected backgrounds while keeping, and in some case improving, the present performance. The major components of ATLAS upgrade will be presented, as well as their impact on the measurement of Higgs Boson properties and other Standard Model parameters, and on the search for new physics. |
