description Scenarios where multiple SUSY states are nearly degenerate in mass produce soft decay products, and they represent an experimental challenge at LHC. This contribution present new directions in dark matter searches at ATLAS and CMS using supersymmetric models in particular the recent exploration of signatures with compressed spectra. All results made use of proton-proton collisions collected at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The contribution focus on experimental limitations of the current results and highlight improvements of the current and future analyses.
