Sumario: | The photographs were taken on Wednesday morning, 24th of October 2018, during the dismantling of the last beam test experiment performed in the context of the LHCb detector Upgrade 1 (the upgraded detector will be installed in LHC point 8 during the years 2019 and 2020). One sees in particular three Vertex Locator (VELO) prototype pixel modules positioned on the beam axis (pictures 1-5, 7, 10-12, 14-15 and 19-20) and one prototype Upstream Tracker silicon microstrip sensor (picture 17). The delicate pixel modules will be installed in the LHC vacuum, at a few millimeters from the beams. The final, custom-made vacuum feedthrough flanges, with all cables connected, are also visible (for example on the left of picture 7). |
