Sumario: | This report presents two of the analyses developed for the AEGIS experiment during a 13-week internship at CERN. The AEGIS experiment at this stage focuses on antihydrogen production. The first analysis investigates how the time over threshold of the Multi-Pixel Photon Counters, reading the scintillating fibers of the AEGIS antihydrogen detector (FACT), is affected by the number of positron pulses used for positronium production. It is found that there is a linear relationship between the average time over threshold of FACT and the number of positron pulses used. The second analysis concerns adding positron normalization and appropriate uncertainties to the already existing FACT hit rate versus time analysis. |
