Sumario:The main goal of the project led by Medipix CMS-NZ group is to measure the neutrons flux in several locations in the CMS cavern. In this framework the aim of the summer student project was mainly to develop, test and calibrate the new SN-Medipix3RX∗sub-detector. This is assembled in the neutron detector box camera. SN-Medipix3RX based in fact on Medipix3RX front-end readout ASIC is the latest version of the hybrid pixelated detector developed at CERN to measure slow neutrons flux in and around the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) on the LHC accelerator. The sub-detector consists of a lithium fluoride layer on top a semiconductor sensor layer made of silicon, which is bump bonded to the front-end electronics ASIC.
