Interventions could be, for example, a new approach to teach a specific topic, an innovative learning environment or a strategy to use a new educational tool.&nbsp; Its purpose is not only a well-tested teaching strategy or a learning environment but also insight into the characteristics of successful interventions, which will add to the knowledge available in the literature.&nbsp;</p> <p>Common phases of DBR are preliminary research, development of a prototype and assessment of this prototype in practice. Usually this results in indications for improvement of the intervention after which usually a new research cycle follows.</p> <p>The presentation will describe examples of successful DBR investigations. A list of do’s and don’ts will be based on DBR-experiences with supervising PhD work and reviewing papers for conferences and journals. Reference will be made to relevant literature about this type of research.</p>
