Sumario: | The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has a collimation system which uses an alignment procedure to align the collimators around the beam. When aligning a collimator, beam losses propagate in the direction of the beam and are observed by other nearby BLMs. Due to this observation, collimator alignments are performed sequentially to avoid crosstalk and be able to identify which losses are generated by which collimator. This MD activity seeks to quantify the levels of crosstalks in BLM signals at injection, to eventually be able to align multiple collimators at the same time. The results obtained, successfully predicted the amount of crosstalk for each of the cases tested during this MD. |
